Local Lip Balm manufacturer Lipmate donates to great cause
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Lipmate (®), the lip balm manufacturer, that has kindly donated hundreds of multi flavour Lipmate lip balms at our recent Tesco Trolley Dash charity event.
The event was a huge success raising £600 for CARES Charity. The trolley dash was won by David Burton of Colne and you can read more about it here.
Lipmate is used by millions across the country, but did you know that the entire manufacture and distribution process is based right on our doorstep in Nelson, Lancashire?
Thanks to Lipmate, we were able to give free lip balms to everyone that purchased a raffle ticket in the store and they went down really well!
Kevin Thornber, Managing Director at J&J Closures, the manufacturers of Lipmate in Nelson said “We are aware of the great work and support CARES provides to cancer patients and their families in Burnley and East Lancashire”.
“We know from experience that lip balm is a great practical support not just for cancer patients, but any patients admitted into hospital, where the air can often by dry and humid.”
“Naturally donating hundreds of lip balms goes some way to supporting patients, and helps CARES to achieve their objective or raising awareness to cancer”.
Kevin continued, “As a local company in East Lancashire, we wanted to help a local cause and I am delighted we have been able to support CARES in this way”.
Dry skin and lips
Cancer patients undertaking chemotherapy will be aware skin can become drier and more fragile than ever before. That includes the thin and fragile skin of lips. A well hydrated lip balm with active moisturising ingredients can help to reduce dryness of the lips and prevent excessive chapping.
CARES Charity Support
Cares Charity supports the people of East Lancashire through early awareness of cancer; how to check, treatments, advise and support.
To do this we require vital funds to support people to encourage early detection to beat and cope with cancer. To find out more, please visit our website at http://www.carescharity.org/ to see how we can help you and you can help cancer patients through donations and your time.
